Abstrak
The objective of this research was to get the empirical evidence whether there is a relationship or not between students? learning motivation and writing narration ability at the Twelfth grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Tangerang Selatan in the 2010-2011 academic year. The method of the research used was a quantitative survey method. The population of the research consists of 176 students and the sample of the research was taken 20% from the population, consists of 35 students whom have selected randomly. The instruments used for getting the data were questionnaire about students? learning motivation and writing narration tests. The scores of the students were calculated by using Pearson?s Product Moment Correlation. The calculation of Pearson?s Product Moment results the ?r? correlation 0.75. With df= 33 in 0.05 significant standard got ?r? table 0.339. In other word, r observe is higher than r table (ro > rt). As the consequence, work hypothesis was accepted and null hypothesis was rejected. So, it can be concluded that there is relationship between students? learning motivation and writing narration ability at the twelfth grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Tangerang Selatan in the 2010-2011 academic year.
